Dear Students,

Welcome back! I hope your summer break was filled with rest, fun, and memorable experiences. As we begin this new school year, we want you to know how excited we are to see you again and support your continued academic journey.  This year, we are placing a strong focus on attendance, behavior, and math growth. That means we are setting high expectations—not just for your grades, but for your learning, thinking, and perseverance. We believe in your potential to go beyond what you think you are capable of, and we are here to help you get there.

Our goals–what we want you to accomplish this year:

1. Attend school regularly at least 90% of the time
2. Classroom behavior improvement-Listen to directions; don’t be disruptive; respect others
3. Math-25 hours of Success Maker for students for the year; and working hard to raise our test scores

We also want to take a moment to remind everyone of a few important expectations that help keep our school a focused, respectful, and a safe place for learning:

 Cell Phone/Smart Watches, Earbuds, and Backpacks

They must all be turned off and kept in your locker for the whole school day. 

The purpose: Keep you engaged, focused, safe, and free from unnecessary distractions.  

 Dress Code Reminder-All students are expected to dress in a way that is appropriate for a learning environment. Clothing should not be disruptive, revealing, or display inappropriate language or imagery. Remember that pajama clothes are not allowed.  The purpose: Maintain a respectful and professional learning environment for everyone.

 Classroom Behavior-We expect all students to: arrive to class on time and prepared to learn; show respect to teachers, staff, and classmates; participate positively and avoid behaviors that distract from learning

Your choices matter, and how you carry yourself in class impacts not only your learning but the experience of those around you. The purpose: Foster a classroom where everyone can thrive and feel respected.

Parents and Guardians,

We need your partnership in helping your child be successful at school. One of the most important lessons students can learn is to work hard, persevere through challenges, and not give up when things become difficult. Success rarely comes easily, but students who continue to put forth effort every day make the greatest growth.  Regular attendance is critical to academic success. Every day of learning matters, and students who miss school miss valuable instruction, practice, and opportunities to build important skills. We ask for your help in ensuring that your child attends school every day and arrives ready to learn.

We would appreciate your partnership in helping us maintain a positive learning environment for all students. Please take a few moments to talk with your child about our expectations to be safe, respectful, and responsible at school and in the classroom. Students learn best when classrooms are focused, free from disruptions, and everyone treats one another with respect.  Thank you for reinforcing these expectations at home and supporting our efforts to provide the best possible learning environment for all students.

We also encourage you to talk with your child about doing their best in every class, even when the work is challenging. This is especially important in math, which is one of our major school goals this year. Consistent effort, participation, and practice in math will help students build confidence and achieve greater success.

Let’s work together to make this year positive, productive, and successful.  Our teachers and staff are committed to supporting you and your student every step of the way.  Parents/Guardians, we will need your consistent help throughout the year.  Please download the Parentsquare app and also get access to Parentvue on Synergy.  These will help you stay up to date on school communications and your student’s grades.  Let’s make this a year of hard work, meaningful progress, and positive experiences.
