Buccaneer Families:

Welcome back to the 23-24 school year! It was great to see so many students and families
during registration week. Athletics have also begun so slowly but surely MJHS is returning to
life after the summer months. A big thank you to our custodial and maintenance staff that have
worked hard this summer cleaning, painting, and getting the physical aspect of school ready for
our school community.

With a new year comes some new faces. Please join me in welcoming our new staff members.
We are happy to have them join us.

Alison Booth, Physical Education
Brea Mosieur, Physical Education
Harry Devi, Behavior Resource
Chris Kern, Educational Assistant
Rebecca Peters. Science
Deanna Mayer, Media Clerk/EA
Shawn Peters, Math

Tuesday, September 5th is the first day of school for 7th graders only.

● Doors open daily at 7:40am
● Tables will be set up in the gym for students to pick up a fresh schedule if they have lost
theirs or didn’t pick one up. There may have been some changes due to balancing
purposes so not a bad idea to pick one up regardless, or check StudentVue.
● Before school students can drop off materials in their lockers, eat breakfast, and
reconnect with friends.
● At 8:10 students will go to the gym for a Welcome Back Assembly that will include
orientation information for day one and the week.
● School ends at 3:29pm

Wednesday, September 6th - Both 7th and 8th graders return.

Drop off - If dropping off, please do not enter the bus lane. A staff member will be out front to
direct to the drop off location.

Pick up - The bus lane (curb from entrance to exit) is solely for buses. Please do not park in
those spaces at the end of the day. We encourage families that are picking up to park on 7th or
Golden and coordinate with the students a pick up location. Entering the parking lot leads to
congestion. Thank you for your cooperation.

The 2023-24 school year is going to be the best one yet at Marshfield Junior High. The staff is
eager to meet our new students and welcome back our returners. If you have any questions,
please call us at 541-267-1487. Go Bucs!

Sincerely,

Floyd Montiel
Principal
