We want to inform you about an incident that was reported to school administration this evening. A family notified staff that a student had made a verbal threat of violence toward Marshfield Junior High School. We take any threat to student safety very seriously and acted immediately.
Coos Bay Police Department and school officials promptly contacted the family of the student who was reported to have made the threat and are actively working with them to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. At this time, we want to emphasize that students are safe, and there is no active danger to the school community. The district will continue to investigate this matter thoroughly.
We are grateful to the students and families who reached out and reported the concern. Your partnership and vigilance help us maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for everyone.
If you or your student become aware of any safety concern, please contact the school right away. Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Gary Roberts
